Parent Commissioning Class

We are super grateful for how the Lord has allowed us to serve parents and be aunts, uncles, and grandparents in the faith to each other's children for many years in the life of our church. We love the role that the Parent Commissioning Presentation has played in that ministry as we commission parents to make Jesus known to their children and agree as a church to support and encourage them in this work.

Parent Commissioning is a class and ceremony for members who are either first-time parents or parents with young kids (4 and under) who have recently joined the church. The purpose of Parent Commissioning is two fold:

1. We want to see parents commissioned as the primary disciple makers in their home and equip them as best we can for the ministry of parenthood and the mission field of their home.

2. We want to agree as a church to support and encourage these parents in the discipleship of their young ones. The Ridgewood body will commit to being aunts, uncles, and grandparents in the faith to their children.

By signing up for Parent Commissioning you are agreeing to participate in the parenting class on Saturday, May 10 from 9 to 11 AM

After completing the class and some simple homework assignments, parents will participate in the Sunday morning Parent Commissioning Presentation on August 24. We will celebrate the blessing of your little ones while you stand before the congregation declaring that you will raise your children in the fear and knowledge of the Lord and asking our church to stand with you in partnership in this task.

If you are a member of Ridgewood Church and would like to participate in Parent Commissioning, please sign up below by Tuesday, April 29.
