Billy Cannada

About Billy…

Billy Cannada has been a member at Ridgewood Church since its launch in 2013. He and his family have been able to serve and be served by the body of Ridgewood for well over a decade. Not originally from Greer, Billy would have you know that he got here as fast as he could. He is a graduate of North Greenville University and is married to Shannon Cannada. They have two beautiful daughters and a rambunctious son.

What do you love about serving at Ridgewood?

Ridgewood has meant so much to my family. it is an absolute joy to be able to serve in any way I can. The body of believers at Ridgewood Church has walked with me through good and bad seasons and has consistently pointed me toward Jesus. That’s what has been done for me and what I hope to do for others.

What do you do when you are not serving?

I love being a dad. Sometimes that makes me a softball coach, sometimes that requires me to do cheerleading cheers with my daughter from the stands of a football game, and sometimes it means absolutely embarrassing my son in Mario Kart. Apart from that, I love spending time with my wife, watching reality tv and riding my lawn mower.

Favorite book?

I’m not what you would call a “book guy.” It’s not much of a hobby for me. I read then Bible and books that are helpful for spiritual formation. In that category, I’d cite Knowing God by J.I. Packer and Providence by John Piper as books that have meant a lot to me in seasons.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

I do all the cooking and baking at my house. Shannon doesn’t like it and I do. I’m a previous winner of the Women’s Treat Trade at Ridgewood Church. I tell people that I really only have three pitches, but they are all fastballs: Oreo balls, apple pie, and smoked meat.
